About Us

Signature Learning Resources provides school-based therapy and special education services and has been a leader in school staffing for over 10 years. Our services were previously provided under a division of InterActive Therapy Group. In response to the increasing demand for both therapeutic and educational school-based staffing, we formed Signature Learning Resources as a stand alone entity to emphasize our commitment to school-based programming.

At Signature Learning Resources, we provide an interdisciplinary approach to the evaluation and treatment of the children we serve. We are able to offer your school the highest quality professionals in speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, special education, and professional development. We can assist your school in developing and executing a successful special education and/or related therapy service program while holding paramount the educational needs of the child. We are truly committed to the diverse population of individuals we serve.

Management Profiles


Jared M. Bauer, President

Jared began his career as a speech-language pathologist working with developmentally disabled children and adults with a focus on augmentative and alternative communication. He followed this with a position as a clinical supervisor and instructor at Teachers College, Columbia University. Jared came to InterActive Therapy Group as the Regional Program Director in 2006 with the responsibility for the oversight of the New York City operations, including supervision of all clinicians. In 2010, Jared became the President of Signature Learning Resources and is responsible for the growth and overall vision of the company, oversight of all corporate functions, and ensuring that the clinical and administrative teams are comprised of high quality, compassionate, and dedicated individuals. Jared is a graduate of the University of South Florida and currently resides in New York City.


Gary J. Knauer, Chief Financial Officer

Gary is a Certified Public Accountant who began his career working with the accounting firm of KPMG, LLP. Gary’s duties include planning, organizing and directing the accounting and finance departments. He is responsible for corporate compliance, capital planning, and the development, interpretation, coordination, and administration of programs and policies on finance, accounting, cash management, and financial/accounting systems. Gary assists the CEO and President on system strategic and financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, financial performance and system operational and administrative issues. Gary is a graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton and currently resides in Long Island.


Vanessa R. Evans, Regional Program Director

Vanessa is a certified special educator and has been an active pursuant of educational innovation and reform for over fourteen years. She has reflected her true passion and vision for child and family development with Signature Learning Resources, formally InterActive Therapy Group, for over seven years. As the Regional Program Director, Vanessa assures that her team of related service providers and school special educators provides superior educational services to the myriad of children with exceptional needs. Vanessa also provides her specialists with the training necessary to best support their respective schools with special education law and best practices. Vanessa continues to adhere to the philosophy of best educational practice being within the school setting; therefore she spends countless hours within schools providing leadership in state compliancy monitoring and reviews, special education coordination, special education teacher support, professional development and Child Study Team coordination. Vanessa is a graduate of Lehman College and currently resides in New York City.

Deanne M. Wayt, Regional Program Director

Deanne is a bilingual speech-language pathologist. She began focusing on evaluation and treatment in multilingual and multicultural environments at the Language Institute Comunicorp in Santiago, Chile. Deanne continued sharpening her interest in this area when she joined InterActive Therapy Group in 2009 as the Washington, D.C. Team Leader. Deanne became a Regional Program Director for Signature Learning Resources in 2011 and is responsible for growing her region, maintaining relationships with teachers and administrators, providing professional development, and, above all, ensuring the quality of therapeutic services for each child we are privileged to serve. Deanne is a graduate of The George Washington University and resides in Washington, D.C.



Olga Martes, Human Resources Director

Olga began her career with Hermes of Paris in 2002 working as a generalist. Over the past 10 years she has served as Payroll Manager, HR Manager, and HR Consultant for various companies. Olga's responsibilities include benefits administration, payroll, recruiting, and employee relations. As HR Director, Olga takes a hands-on approach in her support of SLR's staff while serving an integral role on the management team. Olga currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.

Aracelis "Celi" Alvarez, Executive Assistant

Celi came to InterActive Therapy Group in 2006 and transitioned to Signature Learning Resources in 2010. As the Executive Assistant, Celi provides administrative support to the President and Directors and serves as the companies billing and intake coordinator. Celi is responsible for company billing, payment tracking, and liaising with the CFO. Celi is a graduate of LaGuardia Community College and resides in New York City.
